Unbolt the bracing brackets located behind the radio aperture that connect the dashboard to the central floor tunnel. Inside the Engine Bay (Plenum Chamber) Open the hood and remove the windshield wiper arms.

Take out the T20 screws underneath the shroud.

Remove the screws located inside the instrument cluster cavity and behind the central radio frame.

Use labelled zip-lock bags or a magnetic tray. The Polo 6N uses various sizes of Torx screws and hex bolts that look similar but have different thread pitches.

If you are doing this to change the heater core, remember that the HVAC unit itself needs to come out next, which involves draining the coolant and disconnecting pipes in the engine bay.

Open the hood and locate the plenum chamber (the area beneath the windshield wipers where the cabin air filter sits). Remove the plastic rain tray covering this area. Unbolt the bracing brackets located behind the radio

Open the glove compartment, unscrew the securing fasteners along the top and bottom inner tracks, and pull the entire box assembly out.

(for steering column/structural bolts) 24mm socket (to remove the steering wheel)

Does your Polo 6N have or a standard glovebox ? Remove the screws located inside the instrument cluster

Start by clearing out the central elements of the cabin to expose the hidden frame mounts.

This is the part that intimidates people, but the 6N is actually logical. You do need to remove the steering wheel or the center console to get the main padded dash pad out, but it does make life easier if you drop the fuse box cover.
