The full modern replacement. Ironically, Autodesk killed ArtCAM and encouraged users to move to Fusion 360. The Personal (free) license for Fusion 360 includes 2.5D and 3D CAM, modeling, and even rendering. It is not as intuitive for relief art as ArtCAM was, but the feature set is vastly larger. The main limitation: limited rapid moves and a learning curve. But it is legal, supported, and updated weekly.

Delcam ArtCAM 2008 is a computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software developed by Delcam, a leading provider of CAD/CAM software solutions. ArtCAM 2008 is specifically designed for artists, designers, and manufacturers who need to create complex designs, models, and products. The software offers a range of advanced tools and features, including 3D modeling, sculpting, engraving, and machining.
ArtCAM 2008 utilized a layer-based approach to 3D modeling similar to Photoshop, but for 3D reliefs. Users could merge, add, subtract, or multiply different relief layers.
