Carl Hubay Upd

The patriarch of the dynasty, (also spelled Károly Hubay), was a Hungarian violinist, conductor, and composer. He served as concertmaster of the Hungarian Royal Opera House and taught at the Budapest College of Music. He is best remembered as the father and first teacher of the much more famous Jenő Hubay (1858–1937).
